History
Our company, LINCK Holzverarbeitungstechnik GmbH, formerly the "Gebrüder Linck KG" machine factory and foundry, in Oberkirch, can look back over a long tradition. The name Linck is referred to in the archives as early as 1824, as a hammer mill. Its proximity to the Black Forest, a huge source of the raw material wood, was a determining factor in making Oberkirch an ideal location for Linck, which produced mill equipment, turbines and sawmill machinery in excellent trade quality. At the end of the 18th century, the company began to build cast iron log frame saws. Over the following years, numerous patents and copyrights for new, pioneering technologies and products, which brought about changes in working methods in the sawmilling industry, secured the company a leading position on domestic and foreign markets. Using profiling, reducing, edging and slicing technology, together with ingenious lumber and log manipulation methods, our company contributed to making work in sawmills much more humane than the very arduous labour that had previously been necessary. The power of innovation and the continued development of well-proven products brought a steady rationalisation and automation to the sawmilling industry. The products we make today, which are conceived, designed and manufactured in line with the very latest research, guarantee not only excellent disposability, but also high levels of machine and equipment productivity.
