for. proc. big diameter logs
Sawlines to produce sawn lumber out of big diameter logs. Optimum processing of diameters up to 1000 mm and more with high-capacity and flexbile machine combinations.

Round logs on the infeed conveyor to the band headrig are scanned by a 3D-scanning system and turned into the optimum sawing position by a hydraulic log turner.

The infeed carriage and the band headrig with 2100 mm diameter bandsaw wheels - North American bandsaw technology - are of tilted design. The functions of the clamping supports and claws are servo-hydraulically operated. Cant kicking device and cant turner are installed on each side of the carriage clamping support. High speed carriage feed with shotgun hydraulic cylinders.

A chipper canter unit with a stepped disc cutterhead to remove slabs is installed in front of the band headrig.
The waney-edged, four-sided cants produced by the chipper canter unit and the band headrig in the first pass are either fed back to the band headrig or to a band resaw with linebar for recut.

All customary lumber can be produced by flexible circular saw units in combination with special feeding- and aligning systems. The circular saw units are designed for cutting depths up to 375 mm and can be equipped with 6 movable saw flanges - whereof the two outer flanges can be equipped with additional sawblades.

Electronically controlled board edger combinations designed for up to 180 mm cutting depth for edging and splitting the planks and sideboards complete the sawlines for big diameter logs.
