Profiler unit VPF340
The profiler unit is designed for the profiling of four-sided waney cants. The profiler heads remove the wane from the four-sided cant producing simultaneously two sideboards - one board per side. The two machine frames are equipped with each two profiler heads. The four horizontal heads are driven by two three-phase motors. Horizontal and vertical adjustment is carried out via precision ball-screw spindles with pole-changeable gear motors. With sideboard optimisation, the adjustment of the profiler heads in vertical dirction is carried out by servo motors or servo cylinders. Scanning of the vertical cant faces together with high speed variable vertical adjustment of the profiler heads provides optimised board edging.
Two machines with centering- and feeding systems can be installed in line for the production of four sideboards.
Feed speed of the in- and outfeed systems up to 190 m/min.

The profiler heads are equipped with chipper knives and carbide-tipped segments or with dressing knives. Vertical adjustment of profiler heads is carried out symmetrically or independently depending on the machine design. |
