Pine from the Mark Brandenburg [Holzkurier issue 30/31]

Raw material for Europe's biggest pine processing sawmill

The company Klenk at Oberrot/Germany built a sawmill in the middle of a pine region processing 1 Million m³ round logs per year. The forests of the Mark Brandenburg, surrounding the site at Baruth/Germany, consist of 82 % pine ....

.... Klenk installed a new, frequency convertor controlled sawline supplied by Linck, Oberkirch/Germany, operating at a feed speed from 65-150 m/min. ....

.... The first chipper canter in the sawline is designed for processing log diameters from 9-50 cm. The two-sided cant then passes a cant turner prior to entering the second chipper canter. Cutting widths at the second canter are between 6 and 46 cm. Following the profiler unit, designed for cutting depths up to 80 mm, the cants are then fed to the saw unit. At its outfeed side, the cants are again turned, profiled and split by a double arbor circular gang designed for a maximum clamping width of 40 cm and a cutting height of 30,5 cm. .....
