The Holzkurier and Timber-Online.Net have listed the largest Austrian sawmills. The following ones had the highest production in 2005: Stora Enso Timber in Ybbs (1,3 Mio. m³ round wood), Mayr-Melnhof Holz in Leoben-Göss (1,25 Mio. m³ round wood), Holzindustrie Binder in Fügen (1,06 Mio. m³ round wood) and Holzindustrie Stallinger in Frankenmarkt (1,03 Mio. m³ round wood). This represents an annual production increase of +5,7 % in Ybbs, of +4,2 % in Göss of 4,2 % and of +6,2 % in Frankenmarkt. The highest production increase was achieved by Holzindustrie Binder in Fügen: +8,2%.
The highest production increase of all sawmills recorded was achieved in Eastern Tyrol: The sawmill of Brüder Theurl*
Production capacity in 2005: 170.000 m³ of round wood, i.e. 26 % more compared with 2004.
